Lira's Reviews- *Make Up*

Hey everyone!

In this post I want to give a review of some of my new/favourite make up products, so you know what I think about them. I hope you enjoy!

Maybelline Volum' Express The Falsies Black Drama Mascara

This mascara promises the "most dramatic lash fab volume!" and a dramatic black finish. I really like this mascara and it costs about 12,00€ (depending on where you buy it, the prices could vary), which I think is quite pricey for one product (but I am quite stingy LOL). This mascara is currently my favourite and I use it every time I apply make up, and it still hasn't dried out yet. It really elongates my eyelashes and seperates them nicely, and it also adds a bit of volume to my lashes. It also has little fibers in the mascara cream, so that the fibers lay onto your lashes and make them seem longer (like you're wearing falsies as the title suggests). I usually apply 2-3 coats (without letting them dry too much in between application) and sometimes, if needed, I comb my lashes with an old, washed mascara wand. It is certainly not the perfect mascara and on some days I can't get it to work properly and it clumps my lashes or it doesn't hold the curl, but nonetheless it is very nice! But I am a mascara snob and I am always on the look out for a great mascara, even though the one I am using now is really great.

Catrice Ultimate Color Lipstick in 220 Step Red Up

This is one of my all time favourite lipsticks! The color is just perfect and it stays on quite well, if you use a lipliner underneath the lipstick (mine is from essence). It is quite cheap (about 3,99€) and it smells really nice aswell, so that using it is very pleasant. Even though the price is not very high, the packaging of this lipstick is very nice. It comes in a nice, elegant black tube with the name written on the bottom of the tube. The quality of the lipstick is great, it glides on smoothly and doesn't really dry out the lips. It doesn't stay on all day long, especially if you eat with it on, so you might have to take it with you and touch it up during the day, but other than that I really love it.

This is me wearing the lipstick

Maybelline Eye Studio Lasting Drama Gel Eyeliner 24H Black Collection in 07- Black Chrome

This eyeliner is quite amazing! It is black with a little sparkle in it and it is super longlasting, it doesn't wipe off at all. It costs about 9€ which, again, I think is a bit pricey but being a student with no job, I think that almost everything out there is expensive hahaha.
The packaging is really nice, the eyeliner comes in a glass container with a metal lid and a neat little brush. After you use the brush it comes with a few times, applying the eyeliner becomes harder because the brush tip isn't as fine anymore, but you could use another brush or just keep using this one instead. I do have to say that my eyeliner dried out a bit and now it is a bit harder to apply, but I still like to use it a lot. The sparkle doesn't show up on the eye that much, but if you focus on it you can see it. All in all I am a really big fan of this product, as well as of Maybelline in general!

Here you can see the sparkle
That's it for today, I will be doing some more reviews in the future because I really like to tell you my opinion of some products, so you guys can see what I like or don't like!

Lots of Love,

Lirie

Favourite Youtubers

Hey everyone!
I spend a lot of time watching Youtube videos, and I am subscribed to many Youtubers and I aspire to become one some day (when I am brave enough to go in front of a camera and speak to you!) and I wanted to share my favourite Youtubers with you today!
So here they are:

Kandee Johnson
My very first subscription was of Kandee and I just love her. She is bubbly, beautiful and just so fun and creative and I love watching her videos and they inspire me to be creative myself! Keep going, Kandee!

Zoella
She's another favourite of mine because I feel like she's so normal and great and I just love watching her videos and hauls because they just make me happy. Also I love the big group of friends that the british youtubers have made and I just like to watch them have fun together.

Sprinkle of Glitter
Louise is just an amazing, inspiring young mother and even though her videos aren't 100% perfect, she still manages to capture you and she is quirky (like myself) which I absolutely love. When she and Zoe make videos together, its even better!

Pixiwoo
The Pixiwoo sisters Sam and Nic are just so amazingly talented and beautiful and nice and I love to watch their make up tutorials because I feel like I'm learning so much when I watch them. Also they have a make up look for every occasion, so their channel is definitely worth giving a try!

Grav3yardgirl
Bunny, also known as grav3yardgirl, is one of my all time favourite youtube people because she is crazy, fun and beautiful in her own way. Her videos always make me smile and I love to watch them.

SUPERFRUIT
Pentatonix is an amazingly talented group of young acapella artists and I just love to listen to their incredible songs. When I found out that two of the boys from PTX made a youtube channel, I was wowed. Scott and Mitch are beautiful young men and I love watching their super funny videos and listen to them sing.

Food Wishes
This is one of my favourite food channels, and I love to try out the recipes that Chef John uploads on this channel. The videos are fun to watch (not just boring tutorials) and the recipes taste delicious.

Joy of baking
This is my all time favourite dessert channel and I love everything that I have tried to make from this channel. 90% of my favourite desserts are from this site and I am just amazed at how beautiful the dishes turn out.

PewDiePie
This is one of the only gaming channels that I'm subscribed to but I just love Pewds  (a.k.a. Felix) and how he makes his videos. They always make me laugh and I could just watch his videos all the time.

Troye Sivan
Troye is just amazing! He is awesome, fun and his videos are funny ;) And he is a tumblrr and I love him for putting these elements in his videos...

Carli Bybel
Carli is an amazingly talented, gorgeous young woman and I just love watching her make up and hair tutorials all the time. She does an amazing job and I really enjoy her channel.

Now I know that these are quite a few channels that I love, but I think these are some of the best ones (and I've left a few out!) and I would really recommend every one of these.
Some other channels that I have left out, but still love a lot:
Tyler Oakley
Superwoman
Tanya Burr
Marzia CutiePie

Have a great day,

What an interesting day...

Hey !

Everything I did today was boring or not really interesting for me to blog. I have troubles about Uni and I just feel like I could do so much more with my time, although when it comes to me doing something, the effort I put into it is about zero. Which is very sad, and I know that but I just can't seem to get myself up to learn something I'm just not that interested in (I'm currently studying chemistry). I want to go to Medschool but that acquires a test to get in (which I have already failed one time :( ) and I really wanna get a job to work at least a couple of hours a week to make a little money for myself. But enought whining :P
At least I tried a new recipe today that my cousin recommended to me, and I made Shepherd's Pie with my mom and it actually turned out quite nicely! The corn was a bit to sweet at first but once it was in the oven, the sweetness mellowed down and it was very delicious to eat :)

That was basically my day in a nutshell. I haven't done much today except watched a couple of episodes of Mythbusters (which I love) and American Horror Story, which I am torn between loving and hating, but hey, I still watch it.

Anyhow, that's it for today,

Lots of Love,
Lirie

  • What’s the one product you wouldn’t leave your house without? Chapstick! (from Labello- it's cherry flavoured! yummm)

  • Which feature do you try to downplay/cover up? The pimples on my face :P

  • One beauty treatment you would NEVER pay to have done? Facials? or peelings probably ....
  • One beauty trick you can share with everyone? Use a lipliner if you want your lipstick to stay all day ;)

Trip to England!

Hi everyone!

Today I decided that I want to write about my recent (and first!) trip to the UK.
My brother and I went there to visit my aunt, who lives in Norwich. We stayed with her for 5 days and it was just such an amazing time, I cannot wait to go again soon! While we were there we obviously went shopping A LOT and we also visited London and even went up the London Eye, which was just awesome and the view was stunning. I want to show you guys what I bought in Norwich and London (or to say it more presicely, what my aunt payed for, which I am very very thankful for!!!).
We went to a bunch of shops, from Chapelfield Mall to Primark to Poundland and I just had the time of my life. At the mall we went into a lot of shops, one of them being QUIZ (http://www.quizclothing.co.uk/) which had THE MOST AMAZING DRESSES I've seen in a loooong time! I got this beautiful dress there for only 9 £!!!

At SELECT I got this gorgeous Maxidress for 10 £.

I can't wait to wear this in summer paired with a couple of wedges and some jewellery!!

Then we went into Superdrug, and of course I had to take a look at the make up! As I didn't have too much time to look around, I decided to give the Rimmel Match Perfection Foundation in 101 Classic Ivory a try, since I heard a lot of positive reviews about it and it was only 5 £ so I picked it up. Then my aunt discovered jewellery for 1£ per piece, which was just insane! I got a beautiful necklace, a pair of gorgeous earrings, a bracelet and 3 rings.

After we had lunch and a coffee break in the mall, we went to PRIMARK which I was sooooooo excited about, since there is no Primark shop in the area where I live. So when I went inside, it was like walking into shopping heaven! Everything is sooo cheap! And many things are really nice and I was tempted to buy so much but I restrained myself. Here's what I got:

I bought two pairs of jeans for about 7 or 8 £ each and this pink glitter pullover for 3£!!! Then I picked up a few goodies like those earphones with the UK flag on them (talk about a great souvenir!), this cream belt with a golden bow with perls on it and those crazy stick on nails in metallic gold (these were only 50p!!!!)

In Poundland my brother bought a couple of DVDs, mostly of Matrix, and I got my mom a Dessert Cookbook.
When we were in London I got a keychain as a memory of me being in London and riding the London eye, which was an amazing experience.

So this is most of the things I got while I was in the UK!
At the end of our stay, my aunt gave us some Cadbury chocolate and celebrations to take home. The chocolate was AMAZING! Best.Chocolate.Ever.

This trip to England was more than awesome and I can't wait to go back, because I had a great time with my aunt and Norwich is a great town (especially for shopping).

See you guys soon,

Lirie
